FAQ
Quick answers before you get started.
Practical details about importing data, tracking quotes, and managing supplier pricing.
What kind of data can I import?
You can import supplier and item data from CSV or XLSX files. Item uploads can also create missing suppliers during import, so you do not have to build the supplier list manually first.
How does QuoteChain track pricing over time?
Quotes are stored as effective-dated price records. The current quote is the latest active quote that is not future dated, while future quotes can be scheduled ahead of time for known price changes.
Can QuoteChain handle tiered pricing?
Yes. A quote can include multiple quantity tiers for the same item and effective date, such as 1-100 units, 101-200 units, and 201+ units. QuoteChain keeps those tiers together in analysis and history views.
What happens when a supplier gives me a future price increase?
You or your supplier can enter the current price and the future-dated price. QuoteChain will show the current quote now and surface the next quote, effective date, and percent change before it takes effect.
Is this only for agriculture?
QuoteChain is being built around agricultural material quoting, but the core workflow works for any team that manages supplier items, quote history, tiered pricing, and recurring price updates.
Is my organization’s data private?
Your suppliers, items, quotes, and notes are scoped to your organization. Users only see organization data they are authorized to access.
